ASE Pelli Con 2012 Knoxville Tennessee
As me and Sam approached Pellissipii State Community College's Pelli Con 2012 there was nothing in sight that indicated " Anime Convention ".
We stepped in the building to find only 2 venders. As I scratched my head I wondered if we had missed something or arrived on the wrong date. This was not the case.
Sam and I wondered down he maze like fourier until we stumble into some a really cool Cosplay group. They informed us the action was upstairs.
As we entered the dark room, I realized that this was not a convention. Strangely enough , A group of young locals called "Surge" sat in front of a large TV screen watching old Toonami Cartoons on the computer .
Surge is a sy-fy, anime and entertainment fan group that meets at the college every Wednesday. The guy at the head of the class room in front of the class room said that Pelli Con was a series of potpourri Conferences with the tech savey, Indy game code generates and Otaku's.
Although this was the strangest Con I'd ever been too, I did meet some awesome locals who were hard core anime fans! They all were having a great time just interacting with one another. Even if though the event wasn't very exciting.
In defense of PelliCon 2012, this is just the second year they have held it and there was (almost) no advertising for the event!
P.s.
I hope see Pellicon will grow bigger and better every year!
Knoxville Otaku's are the best!
It really shows there some great anime fan's out there, Just give em a place to play!

Tekkinkonkreet (Reinforced Concrete)
Tekkinkonkreet is a fantastic look at the struggle of two young orphans and the ambitions of the people who live in the fictional town Treasure City. White and Black are homeless and dream of one day leaving the citie's hard life for a better place but when local gangs threaten to take over the town and destroy the two boy's livelihood. Black and White fight back. The fued with the gangs escalates and White is forced to leave Black's side. This leaves Black with no choice to revert to a very dark and sinister part of himself.
Tekkinkonkreet is full of action, humor, violence, and tragedy. It depicts how ambition can consume a people and leave them with only darkness and death. Although its not all depressing, White is a dreamer who is very funny and almost constantly oblivious to whats happening around him. His good nature and strong bond with Black is eventually what saves the town from total destruction.
Check it out, its a great Anime!

THE SECRET WORLD OF ARRIETTY "The Borrowers?"
When I fist saw the Disney movie preview for THE SECRET WORLD OF ARRIETTY I thought the story line looked familiar. Turns out Studio Ghibli teamed up with Disney to produce this anime fairytail and based it on the 1959 novel "The Borrowers".
The previews looks great. It's a must see for Studio Ghibli fans.
P.s.
Don't roll your eye's If that sort of anime is not your style; Just be glad they didn't decide to redo "The Littles".

Lets Go Bub!
I recently have been watching the anime series Wolverine on G4TV. The really made an excellent story line. Although the story isn't quite true to the Wolverine comic book series there are many similarities . The setting is in Madripor just link in the old comic books. Wolverine is back in japan with a few old acquaintances like his beloved Mariko Yashida, Yukio and Jessica Drew (Spider Woman), Omega Red, as well as few cameos appearances from the X-men.
Storyline:
"Logan learns that his girlfriend Mariko Yashida (who disappeared a year ago) has been taken to Tokyo by her father Shingen (who is the head of the Japanese crime syndicate Kuzuryu and a supplier of A.I.M.) in order to be wed to Hideki Kurohagi. Wolverine goes on a quest to rescue Mariko and defeat Shingen and Hideki while encountering some opponents along the way."
